Urban Ideas Limited Partnership is a creative consultancy that seeks to promote and market artists and their artistic works. We do this by developing portfolio projects as well as by building audiences through telling the independent artist story. We believe that local art is a vital part of community and economic development.

 

The Urban Ideas brand group is an umbrella company that controls over 70 catalog items representing well over 700 digital assets marketed and available to global consumers via streaming, digital download and ad-supported partners. We work with and distribute over 25 independent artists and entrepreneurs. We are a leader in the independent creative commerce space.

The Brand Group also includes Urban Creed Music Group (national multi-genre imprint), Kingdom Records (national gospel music) and Indie Chart Music (national multi-genre aggregator); as well as Urban Ideas Publishing Group (music and digital e-books), Urban Ideas Ventures (internal brand development), Urban Ideas Consulting Group (management consulting for artists’ enterprises and small businesses). We maintain global distribution via INgrooves, Inscribe Digital and Universal Music Distribution Group. We share strategic partnerships with the Music Garage, and the non-profit KPA2 Performing Arts Academy.

Building Out the Independent Music Scene in Chicago

Chicago Creed is reimagining the Chicago Indie Music business. We focus on developing the artists’ brand through audience curation and development. We build partnerships with venues, music consumers and corporate brands based upon a deep understanding of audience metrics and artist performances. Our notion is to identify the best emergent talent available to us, and connect them to appreciative audiences here in Chicago, nationally and globally. Thus enhancing the artists earning ability; as well as bringing prestige and tourism to our City. Chicago Creed is headquartered in our West Loop office at our partner company Music Garage.

Our Approach

We are a lean team that works closely with active artists and their team, who have differentiated themselves with great music, strong social media presence, defined audiences and an active performance schedule. Our value proposition is that artists get direct access to a music business executive with over a decade of music experience. We provide premium digital distribution access via our partner INgrooves, and where appropriate, physical distribution via Universal Music Group Distribution. Our business model places the artist as the driver of the business decision. We are part consultant and part venture partner.

Our Roots

Kingdom Records, Inc. emerged from local mega church Valley Kingdom Ministries International in Illinois.  Since 2003, Kingdom Records, Inc. has carved a unique position in gospel music as a leading independent music company, having produced and marketed over 50 original CDs, compilations and DVDs. Kingdom Records has received numerous acknowledgements including one of the nation’s top ten independent labels by Billboard Magazine in 2009 and 2010; as well as multiple Platinum and Gold selling records and DVDs. Kingdom Records continues to distinguish itself via distributing and promoting authentic gospel music with robust commercial appeal. The roster is a mix of gospel and urban, and the company maintains its base label and two imprints.
